Shaun’s back from his holiday and in the garden!

Garden, Shaun's One To Watch

Hello to everyone again and welcome to my latest gardening blog

As some of you who watch Ideal World or follow me regularly on Facebook will no doubt know I have been away on a wonderful seven night cruise with Azamara Club cruises which was simply stunning and I feel very lucky to have been on such a lovely trip. I visited some great places but the photo I have picked from my travels shows some amazing bougainvillea I saw on a port call in Majorca.

Before I set sail I had loads of gardening to do at home but when I returned I was gobsmacked at how much everything had grown in just over a week – but I gather the UK weather has been really good – I know makes a change doesn’t it!

Luckily I had another day of holiday left at home before getting back to work which has really helped me get back on top of things. I am very pleased with my hanging baskets and pots this year as they are doing pretty well and are already quite big and full. I have also planted up three extra easy fill hanging baskets for my mum which I am dropping off to her on Sunday in York when I finish work. She has told me that the sweet peas I gave her a few months ago from the show are now in flower so I am looking forward to seeing them and having a good catch up with mum.

By the way, I am delighted to say I am back on Garden Bargains this Sunday with the lovely Angela where we’ve got the Tutti Frutti Asiatic Lily Bulbs! It should be a great weekend with lots of fun!

See you over the weekend hopefully, it’s nice to be back

I have to say how delightful the gardening show was today.
I adore listening to you, and the gardening lady who does the show with you is so cheery she lifts my spirits.
Altogether a good duo and a brilliant show.
I bought the mini orchard and the lavender plugs earlier this year and the quality is excellent.
I only have a small garden but the 4 trees look so good and I’m looking forward to many years of fruit.
I’m going to underplant them with some of the lavenders.
As mentioned on the show I saw a cabbage white butterfly on my verbena only this weekend.
Thank you so much for such good entertaining and informative gardening shows.
