Funniest kitchen incident?

Probably the time I poured whipped meringue over a presenters head. I remember being so embarrassed and letting out what can only be described as a scream as I realised just how horribly wrong it had gone. If you have a good search through the Ideal World Youtube channel then you’ll no doubt find it in the archive.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Oooooh, this is super tough, I mean I struggle to narrow it down to one cuisine let alone one actual thing. Hhhmmmm! However, it has to be poached egg on toast. Super healthy, takes minutes and it’s sooooo tasty.

Favourite piece of equipment/kitchen gadget?

This is another tough one as I have so many wonderful gadgets at home! Though it’s probably the Stainless Steel Ingenio Pans from Tefal. They look gorgeous! But, most importantly they’re super functional. You can use them on the hob, in the oven and under the grill – you can even store in them! I’m using them every day at the minute sometimes as many as three times a day. Love ’em!

Do you have any pet peeves in the kitchen?

I’m not sure I have pet peeves however, I’m a total control freak when it comes to sharing the kitchen. I find it very hard not to interfere, which ironically is a personality trait I find really really annoying in others.

Tell us one thing about yourself that we won’t know!

Not long after I passed my driving test one of my very first jobs was driving a white van around central London delivering parcels. I know it’s hard to believe but I was a white van man… and I really loved it. I’m not sure if I have the nerve for central London driving these days.
