As Beauty Day arrives on Ideal World I am thrilled to be presenting fantastic shows with our guest experts, with a host of wonderful skincare products.

As a fashion and beauty journalist I have interviewed many big names in the beauty industry, including celebrity hair experts, skincare experts and celebrities themselves; getting all the beauty secrets from the Hollywood red carpet was an eye opener.

I always ask for top tips, and I have learned so much from working with the very best in the industry.

Exfoliate

One of the best pieces of advice I was given many years ago by a leading skincare specialist was to always exfoliate. This removes the dirt and dead skin cells that can make your skin look dull and lackluster. Exfoliating can bring back that radiant glow and gives a better canvas for the delivery of moisturisers and serums.

Get the right moisturiser for your skin type

One of the most important parts of applying moisture is getting the right one for you. If you have very dry skin, then ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, oils and natural hydrating ingredients are a must. However if you have mature skin then go for skincare that is targeted at helping to fight the signs of ageing. Oily skin will again have different needs as will combination skin.

Don’t forget your neck and décolleté

We tend to neglect this part of our body during our daily routine. Whether its sun damage, age or sleeping on our sides, this is an area that can age quickly. Use a great neck cream every day, and try to use a neck mask at least twice a week if your skin is very dry. Don’t forget those lines between the bust area. A great tip is to leave a mask on overnight.

Look after your lips.

Lipstick and gloss look so much better and can last longer on moisturised lips. Our lip area can become very dry due to many reasons. Always have a great serum formulated for lips and don’t forget to use a lip scrub to get rid of those dry skin bits that we tend to bite off.

Your hair is your crowning glory.

Looking after your hair is paramount to looking younger and feeling great. We all know the feeling of a ‘Bad Hair Day’.

We have great hair-care at Ideal World and getting the right shampoo and conditioner is just as important as getting the right skincare. Find a style that is easy to maintain and use styling products that can recreate that salon look.

Tune in to catch Beauty Day on the 15th September! Have you got a beauty tip you’re dying to share? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter!
